New prints and gallery entries!!

Finally! I have been posting a lot of work lately. Some new, mostly old. A couple are from school. A few of them are a pack of pictures I thought had been lost in hurricane Katrina. Some of the paintings were lost so I am very happy to find these.

I have had the most hectic year......well, the year after the storm may beat it......and because of that and the stresses involved, my painting has suffered. I have neglected my art so much. I don't know why, it makes me feel better to paint, but when you feel like you're drowning in paperwork and red tape, it was really hard to see my creativity.

We bought this house in January with promised money from government agencies that were supposed to buy our destroyed home. Blah, blah, blah....yadda, yadda......it was not even half of what they were saying we would get. Now there's two mortgages and a load of other problems that go along with it. But, I am still happy that we are home. There's no place like Louisiana.

We are going to have our first Christmas in our new home, in front of our new fireplace, with our first real tree ever!

Happy Holidays everyone.

We are here, finally, finally home.

Not only have we made it back to Louisiana, but once again my family has a home of our own.

Thanks so much to all of you who wished us well and helped me to believe we could do it. I was having serious doubts and could feel myself slipping back into a dark depression until I started receiving such wonderful, warm comments from my fellow deviants. Thank you.

We closed on Monday, January 22nd 2007 at aprox. 5pm. I thought it would never happen. So many things had gone wrong. So many obstacles in our path, hurdles to clear, hoops to jump through. And they all had to be done to the exact choreography of this twisted ballet of the SBA.

It is done! We are home! HOME!!

The SBA still didn't loan us enough so we had to get a second mortgage from the bank plus we have to still pay the mortgage on our destroyed house in St. Bernard. Yes, we are the proud owners of three mortgages...that's three.

Oh well, it reminds me of that commercial from a few years ago with the man who says "I'm in debt up to my eyeballs" Now I know how he feels.

I have to go get started painting...anybody want to buy a painting???

Peace, Love, and Harmony!

I think we're going to closing on Friday! I'm pulling my hair out!

I talked to our SBA loan officer and everything is straight with them now. They're definitely giving us the loan, just not enough so we need an additional loan from the bank. I'm pretty sure that's all OK as well. We just need the home appraisal to be done Monday so that everything else will fall into place before we go to the act-of-sale on Friday.

This past week I have been on the phone/email/fax with every possible agency you could imagine trying to get all of the necessary documents etc. ready to go in time.

We needed to get our deed on our destroyed home in Louisiana and fax it to the SBA, set up homeowners and flood insurance on the new house, hire an appraiser, get all of our contracts etc. from the realtor's office sent to the SBA and the mortgage company, send everything to the title company, sign fifty-million copies of fifty-million documents, put deposits for all of the utility companies, arrange for our loan officer to send our loan papers to the legal department in time for them to approve the loan and send it in turn to the disbursements department at SBA so they could cut the check before Friday(because Monday is a federal holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. day) and have them all do everything in the correct order. WHEW.

I had a breakdown yesterday, I just couldn't take it anymore. So much weight on my shoulders, so long of just waiting and wondering and hoping and not knowing what's going to happen.

I love you guys so much...thanks for all of the well wishes we've received. I don't think I would have made it through without all of this wonderfully good karma you've shared with me.

Peace, Love, and Harmony!
